CoE WORLD CUP

As we near the end of Season 8 in Champions Of Europe, my thoughts are already
turning towards pre-season and next season.

With that in mind I am considering running a World Cup between the end of Season 8 and the beginning of Season 9 and giving managers the opportunity to manage an international team.
Managers will be able to choose an international team that they would like to manage, pick a 23 man squad from players currenty in CoE and manage that team the same as they
would their usual CoE team, with the exception of transfers, training etc.

The tournament would run for approximately 2 weeks and in the same format as the current
World Cup Finals. 8 Groups of 4 teams with the top two progressing into the knockout stages.

The exact international teams have yet to be confirmed and interest in them being managed could
play a part in deciding which ones will participate.

At the moment I am just fishing to see if managers would be interested in taking part and
which teams they would like to manage.

If you would be interested then please comment in this thread with your thoughts, ideas and list
upto 5 International teams that you would like to manage in preference order.

I think there's 15 USA, 5 Canadian and 11 Mexican players (at last count) so could always combine into North Amrica.

I could do a concacaf squad.  That would include Central America & Carribean islands which include Jamaica.

If not I am completely fine with managing a Euro or South American team.

Great idea Daz - and could also be a novel way of getting managers from other fantasy games to try CofE out!

I would suggest the 24 team WC format - 4 x groups of 6, top 2 and best x 4 3rd placed teams get to last 16 - so most teams get 4 games or more..

My preferences are:

1 BRAZIL - my first ever game was Rous Cup v England 1-1 86 Lineker and Mirandinha the scorers.

2  AN AFRICAN TEAM - OR UNITED AFRICAN TEAM

3 GERMANY
